In 2006, at least 160,000 homes were built, and in the last year, the average number of snagging lists made per home was 62, which is an increase of 18% from the last year. More than 350 inspectors had been employed by the NHBC, and they inspected more than a million of new houses last year. There were 7362 complaints that had been recorded in NHBC, and more than 70% of the houses were found in to be good for homeowners.

The statistical data has successfully revealed the different kinds of faults that are frequently found in the new houses. These faults in the new houses are caused due to many reasons. The foremost reason among them is that these houses are built with low quality materials. The builders, in order to have a lion share in their profit, try to lower down the cost of the construction. The result is a house full of damage and faults. The builders often build such types of houses in few months in order to save the time.

A survey was conducted among the different homeowners in 2003. It was commissioned by the Housing Forum. It was found that that 83% of the buyers have no complain with their new homes. Moreover, 65% were satisfied with the type of services that they have received from their builder. Over half of the people surveyed, want another new home, as they are not satisfied with their present homes.

Today snagging has really become an essential part of construction, and various snagging companies are working on it.
